Single Ladies Episode 1 by Blake Karrington & Chris Booker

I just finished Single Ladies Episode 1 by Karrington, Blake; Booker, Chris on Kindle for Android! http://www.amazon.com/kindleforandroid/

As usual,  Blake Karrington delivers another hit! He has Chris Booker on board for this series and while he's a new author to me, he did an outstanding job on this collaboration as well. I couldn't tell who wrote which parts but their writing styles blended together as smoothly as red wine and Italian food!
I typically don't like how men portray sistahs in urban literature but he gave these ladies a good look.
We are introduced to Tammy, Lisa, Ralphy, Falisha, Lamar and Kim.
Tammy is holding it down on her own with two kids from her high school sweetheart Chris, while he does a bid. She's faced with a low paying job and lots of high bills. Chris can't do much for her behind bars but its not his fault and she knows he was just trying to feed his family when he got arrested. She's trying to be strong but her landlord is on her back; even propositioning her sexually, they cut her welfare because they want her to put Chris on child support and her lights are due to be cut off. She's at her wits end and running out if options.
Lisa is married to Ralphy and currently cheating on him with her recently released from prison high school sweetheart, Dré. While she loves her husband and father of her 4 year old daughter, Naomi, he just can't do her body like Dré can! She knows she is wrong but love and lust are in play, making it hard to break away. On a weekend getaway with her husband, she has Dré in the next cabin over and sneaks out for a rendezvous with him. She makes the mistake of falling asleep and wakes up to the sunrise. How will she explain this to her awaiting husband?
Ralphy loves his wife and daughter more than anything. He works hard, he tries hard and he left behind a life in the streets to become a family man. He throws his all into his family and would do anything for them. Being from the streets were loyalty is everything, he can deal with a lot of things but betrayal is something Lisa knows he cannot. Ralphy doesn't deserve this and Lisa knows it. Is he as naïve as he appears or will he catch on and catch her?
Falisha has beauty and body. She is used to using what she has to get what she wants. And like many others, Lamar wants her! She doesn't take him seriously because they have been friends since high school and she doesn't fell he has deep enough pockets, although he always seems to have money but no job to show for it. But he's serious as ever. One night he propositions her and tells her to name a price. She does and he delivers. She is shocked but he gets her attention finally.
She takes him up on his offer and they spend the night on the town and finish it off with mind blowing sex! Now they just need to see where this road will take them.
Falisha was not exactly single and had her reasons for not wanting to dive in with Lamar so quickly. But she cannot deny her feelings for him have changed and she sees him differently.  Will she blow this chance at something real for something superficial?
Kim is a sexy, single independent paralegal who is Lamar's roommate and long time friend. She is going through a drought and in need of someone to handle things for her sexually. She is focused on school,  work and passing the bar. A relationship is not on her agenda. But is that what she feels or is she pretending?
The tone is set in Episode 1 and draws you into the storyline. You are glued to the pages as you see where their lives are headed. Episode 2 is sure to follow up and answer questions left hanging in the balance of this juicy series! Lil' Miss Molly by Sa'id Salaam

Well, at least I FINALLY know what a Molly is! I was about as naive as Hazel was when I bought his book. I knew it was bad of course, but I don't use drugs so I never knew the extent to which this drug affected people!
Poor Hazel never really stood a chance! The addictive behaviors of her mother AND grandmother were engrained in her, literally, from the womb! She was very sheltered, then she was thrust into the life of the 'hood and the wolves that waited there. And for them, she was perfect prey with her good looks, virginity and naivety.
Hazel was not alone. Her 12 year old brother Calvin was along for the trip into the hood. He was hanging out with the flamboyant neighbor much to his Pastor Grandfather' dismay. He was being exploited and exposed. He was into hair now and a lot of other things most young boys his age thought were girlish. Hazel should have been his protector, but she was too busy looking for her next high to do anything other than exploit and extort him herself to get that high.
It seems as soon as she began to fit into the ghetto life other curve balls would be thrown at her pushing her further into depravity. Her addiction grew as her inhibitions shrunk. She was down to do anything for the next taste of that Molly. From sex with studs her age and 3xs her age, to sex with a dealer, to strip clubs and everything in between; she was absorbed in a life that she really wasn't about in the end! I gave this book five stars because the story line kept the excitement, intrigue and momentum going from start to finish and Sa'id, as usual, did not disappoint!
